If you’ve somehow ended up here, reading this article, then I’d take a wild guess and say you know what manifesting means. It sounds simple, you think of what you wish for and one day, it magically appears in front of you, doesn’t it? Like your very own imaginary Genie lamp with infinite wishes. I hate to be the one to break it, but in reality it is a bit more complex than that. But that also means, it’s a lot more fascinating too. So, I am going to scratch the surface of it all here and explain the ins and outs a bit.
Choosing the right path
In this time and age it’s very easy to get lost in the midst of the physical world and find yourself feeling adrift and confused with no sense of direction. That’s why it’s so important to first of all, find a way to ground yourself in this fast-paced world. But, in order to do so, you have to get to know yourself. I know, I know, it might sound like a never-ending list of self-help exercises at first. But I want you to take a moment and ask yourself, do I know who I am? I’ll give you a quick journal prompt to help you kick-start the process.
Take a journal (this will come in handy later in your manifesting journey too) and try to answer these 5 questions as honestly as possible while trying not to judge yourself, notice the feelings that might come up and don’t overthink it.
Who am I?
If you scroll towards the end of the pages, you'll find some super handy printable journal prompts waiting for you! Happy journaling!
A few of these questions are a bit more light hearted and some more deep and thought provoking. But the aim of this exercise was to get you to analyze your own behavior. Of course, another good habit to get into is light journaling on the daily. Just take a minute to write down what you're grateful for or list down a few things that make your life better. One of my own favorite journaling exercises is writing down a description of a day in my life a month, a year, or five from now. Describing every little thing from what time I wake up, to what thoughts run through my mind in great detail. While also visualizing the whole process and walking through the day in my head noticing the surroundings, colors, smells and anything else that might come to mind.
Visualizing your dream life
Visualizing the life you dream of is an important part of actually achieving it. Don't set any limits and try to picture yourself living as the highest version of yourself. Our manifesting cards were created for this very reason. It's like having a real-life Pinterest board, but with a little added fate in your hands. Shuffling the cards once a day or whenever you need extra motivation or redirection can help you get back on track to becoming the best version of yourself.
You've probably heard about the power of moodboards, those magical little boards of aesthetic photos that are said to change your life forever. It may sound crazy, but that's the whole point. Turning your personalized pack of cards into a mood board and keeping it in sight can actually help you reprogram your subconscious mind too. This way, you can trick yourself into believing you already have everything you desire. And since human minds are naturally programmed to solve problems, your brain will start looking for proof that you've already achieved everything your subconscious believes you have. This, in turn, will put your manifestations into motion. You'll start taking action and, in retrospect, realize that everything has really come to life. So, if you think about it, it is actually kind of magical, isn't it?
Ready, set, go!
Now, about that action part. You’ll never catch me saying that manifesting isn’t magic, in some way at least, but nothing changes if nothing changes. That’s right, read that last part one more time. You, as a person who’s responsible for your life, have to take action to achieve your dreams. You do have to put a lot of trust in the Universe but you have to have trust in yourself too. With manifesting, you cannot just wait around in your bedroom and expect your manifestations to appear in front of you out of nowhere.
Let me give you a real life example to help illustrate my point. The creators of The Girl From Venus had been searching for remote jobs. One was working as an esthetician and the other as a waitress. A friend of the beautician had a website and needed some help with a marketing matter. She was more than happy to lend a hand, having some experience with social media and marketing. She didn't think too much about it at the time, just seeing it as a good opportunity to gain some experience. A few months later, she was offered a job at her friend's company as the marketing manager. Now let's fast forward to around Valentine's Day of her first year on the job. She was working on a campaign for the holiday, and it turned out to be a bigger project than she had anticipated. One night, she was chatting with her best friend on Facetime, sharing about her project. Her best friend thought it sounded like fun and offered to help out. She had always loved writing, and it sounded like a fun little project to work on together. The owner of the company loved their work, and they ended up collaborating on the whole project. A month later, the friend was hired at the same place as a creative writer. They've been colleagues working remotely together for over a year now. It's amazing how things work out sometimes, isn't it? We like to call it divine timing.
When and How?
As you should know by now, manifesting your dream reality also takes action and alignment. These are the most important things to remember since it can get frustrating if your dreams aren’t materializing fast enough. Some people may think manifesting means thinking about a certain thing as hard and as much as possible. But in reality, manifesting happens only if you generate from a place of:
-
Abundance
-
Gratitude
-
Detachment
-
Trust in the Universe
-
Trust in divine timing
Keeping these 5 simple truths in mind will help you remember that if you take action then your manifestations have no other way than working out at the end.
